New Delhi: The Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday left many amazed when he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with President Pranab Mukherjee will be invited to his daughter's wedding.
Speaking to ANI about the invitees on his daughter Raj Laxmi's wedding, Prasad said that the family will invite everyone in the marriage ceremony which also include Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee.
“It is an happy occasion for all of us and we'll invite everyone. PM and President will also be invited,” Lalu was quoted as saying.
Furthermore, SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav said that all invites will be sent by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
“Netaji will send all the invites. We want all the important people to be part of this celebration,” he said.
According to reports, Lalu's youngest daughter Raj Laxmi and Mulayam Singh's grand-nephew Tej Pratap Yadav are expected to tie the knot in February next year while there engagement ceremony will take place today.
Tej Pratap Singh Yadav became Lok Sabha MP for the first time and won Mainpuri parliamentary constituency vacated by his uncle Mulayam Singh.
Recently, Mulayam and Lalu came together to form Janata Parivar, a political force that also includes Janata Dal(United), Janata Dal(Secular),Indian National Lok Dal and Samajwadi Janata Party.
The close ties between the regional leaders is being considered as a strategy to counter BJP.
